Train up a Child in the Way

Children often ask to do things that they cannot quite do yet because of their age. One example is driving a car on public roads. Most children want to drive a car before they have turned 15 years old and can drive with a learner’s permit and a parent. At Grace Lutheran School, students are learning things that will help them be good citizens and not be a detriment to our society. When students arrive in the morning, they recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Then our Grace Lutheran School expectations are recited:

I will always be in uniform. I will always be on time. I will respect myself, my peers, and my school property. I will honor pastors, faculty, staff and my parents with respect. I am responsible for my academic success.”

First and foremost, the students at Grace learn about Jesus and what He has done for them by dying on the cross and rising from the dead. They learn history and science with a Christian worldview. They learn phonics, English grammar, cursive handwriting, and Latin as they master the art of the written and spoken word. They read the classics, learn arithmetic and mathematics, and learn music theory and music performance. They also engage daily in physical activity so that, when they graduate from our school, they leave as well-rounded human beings. They will then be ready for the various vocations to which God will call them.

Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
